A busy week in the shop: getting ready to spray a 3D-printed guitar body; learning to use metal rods for dot-inlays on a neck; and when copper insulation goes rogue inside a guitar.

A bit of everything this week: more neck carving, inspirational jazz performers, 3D-printing with carbon-fibre, finding odd imperial sized screws, and having fun with obtuse seeming digital music tools.

A Week Out the Shop

I have some fun 3D printing a prototype of my new bridge design and fitting it to my daily player for testing, I start learning FreeCAD, and I spent some time listening to Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the under-appreciated inventor of rock-and-roll.

The amp gets a lick of protective paint, I edit some guitar release videos, and I put together a plan for offering a discount for prototype builds.

One of those weeks where you do lots of little things which keep you busy but don't feel like they add up to much progress to show.

We reach that magic moment where the CAD model and real life match up for the amplifer build, and we do a little finishing work on the neck for build number 3.
